My skink wont eat!

My male Irian jaya wont eat. He is healthy, 50 cm long and about 10 years now. He stopped eating any greens completely about 1 1/2 months ago, and now he ONLY wanna eat insects or other kinds of meat.

He doesnt look unhealthily skinny, and has no obvious infections anywhere (his mouth included). Ive checked his cage, and i havent found any *low voice* *my stars! for the past month and a half.

Its winter/now spring here in Denmark, and of course ive considered the possibility of it being normal burmation-like behavior, but im starting to get a little worried. He has a normal day-night pattern, a cage temp of 24-27 degrees Celcius, about 40 degrees Celsius when its hottest under the heat bulb, and a UVB bulb thats only about 4 months old now.

You may understand why this seems a bit frustrating to me right now, and im worried for my lovely BTS.

Please help. I will be happy to give any more information if necessary, I just want the best help I can get from people, who knows what they're talking about.

Is he by any chance male? If it's not just normal brumation, which can happen even though temperatures are kept up, I bet he's sensing the start of breeding period coming on; I have a male who quits eating (or just barely nibbles if it's pure protein) for 4-5 months when he has girls on his mind.

If he's a healthy adult I would not worry at all, just keep offering him healthy meals every one to two weeks apart and rest assured he'll eat when his hormones settle down --but don't just offer him his favorite treats all the time just to get him to eat, you don't want to spoil him with bad habits.

Exactly what Susann said - he has the females on his mind. Very normal for males.

Nope, just wait it out. Keep offering food, even though he may not eat it.
