Merauke Baby on it's way

I am getting a Merauke baby on tuesday, my question is, what are the humidity requirements for Merauke? I hear the gigas have a different requirement than the Australian species.

I am housing him in a 20 long for the first few months of his life. Or at least until January when I can buy a 40 gallon breeder. Possibly a 55 gallon if I can.

Also what is the average size for a Merauke?

To answer your two questions I just read 50% for humidity and a Merauke can obtain 20 to 28 inches.

I would recommend against a 55 gallon when you get a bigger tank. 55 gallons are only a foot wide, which is quite possibly less than half of what your skink may grow to. I first had my little guy in a 55 gallon and could tell even when he was only a couple months old that he didn't like it much. A 75 gallon would work much better, similar dimensions but an extra half a foot wide. An even better option is building your own, though.

hmmmm... Well what about a lizard terrarium? Critter cages make different dimensions that are not so normal for aquariums?

36" x 18" (common critter cage size) is considered a minimum size. The bigger the better though; you can't go too big.

I would like to get something that was at least 48 inches I think long and maybe a foot and half wide possibly wider if I can fit it on my table, gotta remeasure. I know I can fit 48 inches on it ^^ since he's only six weeks... how long can he be comfortably housed in a 20 gallon long? I need to gather the money, if I am going to buy a terrarium instead. The reason I was going for an aquarium was because of the dollar a gallon sale at petco. XD But I will find a suitable adult cage eventually even if it means custom ordering one.
