Brumation: how long does it last and how often to feed

How long is a piece of string?

In short theres no accurate answer,only temperate occuring tiliqua trully brumate,eg shut right down ,when they do that theu generally wont eat at all even if u try

Alot of tiliqua come from tropical zones and dont actually brumate as such,proof of that is in there breeding cycles,they usually mate in the middle of winter
You have to remember where they occur its 30 plus degrees celcius during the day year round,winters are generally dryer and nights cooler,so they estiviate ,to conserve body fat if food isnt plentiful,but oviously they also mate at this time of year so they must still be active

So I used to feed my skink every three days but now he hasn't eated intwo weeks. I was taking him out every three days to try to feed him but I feel like I am bothering him. I put food in front of him and he just closes his eyes. How often should I attemp to feed him? How long can he go without food? Do they drink during brumation? I have water out for him all the time anyways, I am just curious. Thanks.

What type of bluey do u have?

I live in a place that gets cold winters,wuth my notrherns i keeo there day heat running year round,i dont change bulb wattage or anything,the natural ambuent drops make them slow down,my older ones i dint offer any night warmth ever,some of the younger adults do get it though as do hold back babies,but even with night warmth they do what non night warmed ones do,and generally go off there food,they still drink,some may even have a nibble,but generally they ignore food,from your desciotiin it sounds like yours is doing similar

I have a northern. I didn't change his lights or heat or anything so it came as a shock to me that he started brumating. This is my first blue tongue that I have had during the winter.
