BTS ID

Postby gmachine19 » Fri Oct 10, 2014 6:38 pm

Hey all, new bts owner here. I also have a 1.5 yr old female veiled chameleon (Zerg) and a 6 mo old bearded dragon (Red)

So I bought Jabba here from a petshop about 2 weeks ago and I really love him! I call him a male cuz he looks like a male but I can't be sure at all. He's around the 1 yr mark. He was very "hissy" at first but when I realized he hated being disturbed while sleeping (100% like me :D) and only grab him while hes out and about, he completely stopped hissing at me. I think we've bonded closely since he loves to sit behind my neck while I'm watching videos in my computer and as I am typing this.
I have him on tegu/monitor Bites with some snails right now and he loves it. Gonna try some dog food in his next feeding and see if he likes it. He doesn't seem to eat his veggies at all which I find odd...

Anyway I think he's a Merueke. He also has a reddish pink belly which is awesome. Any thoughts? Do I need more pics for ID? And which angle. Any tips will be appreciated.

Merauke. A very good looking one. No additional pics needed for ID, but we always appreciate more pics of good looking skinks so don't be shy and post a couple more!

I agree with you guess on gender, IMO. And yes, Merauke. :)

Don't be surprised if Jabba is not eating his veggies; blueys are notorious for being picky eaters! If you finely chop the greens and mix them well with your protein, that should entice him to eat. I'm glad that the bonding process is going well for you! Jabba is a very handsome Merauke. :ohyes:

Congrats on your beautiful new Merauke! Finely chopped greens and vegetables mixed with your dog food will get him to eat them. My skinks will not eat vegetables alone. Sometimes I mix them with repashy also.
Best of luck with him, he is awesome, and that is my choice for my next one come next years breeding season! Just love those Meraukes!

Awesome! Thanks for the reassurance that he is a Merueke. Just fed him dog food yesterday and he absolutely loves it!
