Hi all,
I'm new to the forums and just rescued my first blue tongue. I was hoping you all could help me identify what species he/she is. Also, he/she wasn't kept with heat so there's a respiratory infection I need to treat. Any suggestions on how to clear it up quickly would be appreciated! I have him/her in a 40gallon long tank with a heat light and UVB light. New substrate and furnishings as well. Thanks in advance for your input!

Sorry, I can't answer your question about respiratory infection. Others on this forum may be able to help. Might be worth taking to a vet though.

Yep best way to clear a ri is take it to vet,and treat accordingly,eqally important in treatment is getting conditions right to so as to avoid a reinfection and help immune system do its job

Thank you guys! I'm calling my vet this morning to set up an appointment 
I'm happy it's a merauke! He/she seems pretty alert and active other than the respiratory infection. I did redo the tank so it matches the requirements from the care sheet on this site to help move recovery right along. And his/her diet will be much improved from the not so rounded chicken and bananas it was being fed.
