I bought this thing from Taobao few months ago, called the" pet air conditioning",not a real air conditioning of course...more like a hair dryer, and seems much more effective than heat lamp, for it blow the hot air down...
But the company that produce this stuff is Crawlmiracle...which I noticed recently is nasty one. Some pro-reptile owner claim that the lamp they produced are highly dangerous, and they hired someone to defame other company like Mega-Ray,and did a lot of misleading...but I didn't see any report about this heater, and I even think it‘s a quite wonderful design, dispite the bad producer...but I'm not sure about the safety issues...
So...Anyone tried heater like this?Shoud I swich a ceramic heat emitter instead?

Re: So...Anyone tried heater like this?
personally i wouldn't want something blowing air, hot or otherwise, on my skink. constant air blowing can dry things out, so especially if its a skink that requires higher humidity that could be an issue. some skinks might just find the blowing air to be annoying. i don't know enough otherwise to say that it's safe or unsafe, but there are plenty of lamps and CHEs that do a fine job of heating, and i'd stick with what's already been successful for the majority of people.

I agree with what tim said. And just to add, I think as a basking spot it will be very difficult to measure the temperature youre getting. And as far as keeping the cage warm youre creating an air current which will cause you to loose more heat through the vents in the enclosure. This will cause you to run the fan higher and use more power and also cause you to raise the temp of the basking spot.
Just my opinion, im still new to the BTS scene.
Side note , although i cant see much of it i like your enclosure. i just built a custom one and wish i thought of just slotting the wood for vents instead of using big metal vents, looks very clean.

Re: So...Anyone tried heater like this?
thanks,I swiched a ceramic heat emitter...
and to NEB,the enclosure I used was too small,80cmX45cm,so I modified it to a 80cmX80cm...though I'm not sure if the square bottom is a good choice...
