I just got my skink last week, and I already have a question for you. I've noticed Azure's urates and feces to be a little runny, perhaps with diarrhea. I have looked it up a bit to see what could be causing it, and I've heard that it is fairly common and can be because of stress or diet change, among other things.
Right now I am feeding what I had started with; canned dog food ("Merrick" brand called Thanksgiving Day Dinner) with bits of carrots and spring mix greens mixed in. I've also been hand feeding a blueberry every morning. I can list off the ingredients of the dog food if you like, but it is grain-free and mainly turkey, sweet potatoes, and other vegetables. No by-products or anything like that (all natural). Azure was fed canned cat food before; also a natural and grain-free formula ("Wellness" I believe), with squash mixed in. The first poop was solid -- before the first feeding with me.
On that note, how long do you suppose an open - but covered - can of dog food can last in the fridge??
I'm tossing around the idea of pre-making and freezing food for convenience, after seeing the how-to video on YouTube.
