He's supposed to be an irian jaya but he looks kind of different from the pictures I've seen of IJs...
He's a very light color (pics don't quite capture his color) and his original owner said 'he's called a golden' though I haven't read anything like that so far, referring to their color. does he look like a male?
Also, does he look too skinny or fat in the first couple pics?? He hasn't really eaten much in the last few weeks. The last pic was about the time that I first took him in (beginning of May??). I think his first owners fed him baby food, squash and whatever they ate (sounds like the kids gave him anything he'd eat), twice a week. She specifically said never dog food. Well that's mostly what I offer. Dog food and green veggies usually. He ate a bunch a few weeks ago and since then he's given a few licks here and there once a week or so, but literally just a few licks and doesn't make a dent in the food. I'm wondering if he just doesn't want to eat it with the veggies mixed in. But if he's at an okay size I guess I won't worry too much about it.

Looks like some kind of IJ mix, but it definitely has IJ blood in it.

Re: ID - irian jaya?
It appears to be clearly a northern X IJ cross. I have never seen one that looked just like this one, but the black portholes are pretty convincing to indicate northern.
