Friends?
Hello! I own one blue tongue skink named Percy. Percy is an almost two year old male northern blue tongue skink. My family and I have been thinking about getting another northern but making this one a female...and we were also thinking about possibly breeding in the future... I have read the caresheet but I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions on things like age and where to get a positive female because I know its very hard to tell their genders. Thank you!

The only way to know for sure that a skink is a female is if it has given birth before. I see that you titled the thread "Friends", and I'm not sure if you want them to interact with each other, but just in case you do, remember that you never know with BTS. Even a male and a female could seriously injure or kill each other for no reason at all.

Oh no! I don't actually mean interact I just didn't know what to name it! Sorry about that! I guess I was kind of hoping that someone knew of a place that sold adult blue tongues I was just tired and didn't know how to put it into words. Thank you for your response though!

Adult northerns will occasionally pop up on kingsnake.com or on the classifieds section on this forum. A proven female might be hard to find.

Your best bet if you are looking to eventually breed is to pick up a couple of babies, raise them up and see what sex then end up being. If they a males, keep the one you like the best and sell the other one, then try again until you get a female.
