Update on Calypso & Babies

Well I thought I would do a quick update on Calypso and her babies. Calypso delivered 8 healthy babies, all are doing very well, eating growing, thriving, etc... Unfortunately Calypso had another rough delivery, her pregnancy was very delayed like last season. Over a couple weeks she continued to occasionally act as if in labor, then I would find a slug, or stillborn baby. She had 5 total still born, and 2 large slugs, 1 normal slug. I had really thought and hoped that last seasons difficulties were a fluke, but I now believe it is more than that. She is eating well, drinking pooping normally, and back to her sweet self-I think. I am grateful she seems to have come through this ok. As much as I love her babies who are always so beautiful and sweet, I will not breed her again. This will be it for her as a Mom, I care to much for her to risk this again. She will be our sweet pet only. So I do have a waiting list for babies, but I wanted to share a few here. I hadn't really shared many on this site yet.

They are lovely babies but I'm sorry to hear you have to stop breeding Calypso. I hope she is feeling better now.

good choice to decide not to breed with her again but gratz on the babies they look beautifull ^^

Beautiful babies....wish I could have a northern too. Sounds like a good idea to retire her. I have an IJ from Craigslist but I'm rehoming in the classifieds (description there, but short answer-husband says too many lizards ). I'm sooo hoping I can just give him to a friend. Anyway, the original owners said their female died from being egg bound... I didn't really look into what that means, but that would suck to lose a beloved pet that way.

Calypso is sooo lucky to have such a caring and compassionate owner, I'm sure you two will be best buds for years to come The litter, as I've already told you NUMEROUS times, is striking!
