Anyway, right now he's on aspen...and I had bought the big package of aspen from Petco so we have enough for probably 2 total changes of substrate, aka a couple month's worth...so I don't wanna waste it. How well does misting aspen work for regulating humidity? Do you guys think we should be misting it for Rexxar? I know it's not a bedding "made" to hold humidity like Cyprus mulch so I don't know how much that would help...if we need to be upping his humidity more for sure then once the aspen is out I can always just buy that.
He has a very large water dish (big enough for a full size skink and he's under a month old) so I would assume if it is a little dry for him he would just bathe in it more often?
The good thing is he just finished shedding a couple days before we got him so he's not due to shed for a few weeks at least so we have time to tweak humidity before shedding time again.
The caresheet recommends 25-40% humidity, though it doesn't say for which species...so should we be aiming for 40% since he's an Irian Jaya?
