A well established outdoor enclosure

Some recent pictures of my friend's outdoor bluey enclosure. It was built many years ago and is home to numerous Eastern blueys and a few turtles. Being winter in Sydney at the moment, nothing was out basking.











I reckon you'd be flat out seeing a bluey in there even in summer. Perfect, just how a bluey would like it.

looks alot like my blotchies cage,though your buddy looks to have planted stuff in his,mines more grassy and weedy,and way out of control,lol

He planted a truckload of locally occurring tussock grass clumps. Near the pond there are a few Lomandra longifolia clumps too.

Looks good, the challenge is often to make them spouse acceptable :-) on the outside. I find that the weeds build up over a period, probably because nutrient levels from excrement build up and create a fertile home for weeds to run amok in Winter. I used Kangaroo Grass, Poas, prostrate Correas, etc that tend to be hardy to a range of conditions. Also salt bushes like Ruby Saltbush are great for producing a large amount of edible fruits over the summer. Only problem is that a lot of smaller plants tend to get overrun with weeds and it is always good to be able to see where you are stepping in the enclosure. eeek.
