Any ideas on sex???

Was wondering if anyone could take a shot at what this guys sex may be? These are the only pics I have. Also, Irian Jaya or "New Form" Merauke? Thanks!

I wouldn't jump to conclusions just yet.
Do you have better pictures of its neck, head, and front/back leg regions?
This is probably the most Merauke looking IJ or IJ looking Merauke I've ever seen.
There is a possibility that it is a Merauke x IJ cross.
The back and tail pattern is both like a Meraukes and an IJ's. The leg patterns look like IJ's. And the single stripe down is neck is a Merauke trait although there is some glare so I can't see possible trident lines.

I don't believe she owns this animal, so these are, as she said, the only pics she has.

I still say Merauke. If you scroll to the bottom of this page: viewtopic.php?f=24&t=20330 you see some pictures of Meraukes with very similar pattern.

Thanks guys This is why those of us who aren't too good at distinguishing between the locals come here, I really want to get into blueys but don't want to contribute to the ever growing problem of hybrids so right now when it comes to ANY bluey I'm considering purchasing, if it's not from a well known breeder I like to get as many opinions as possible. I woulda thought this was an irian jaya, which is what the fellow selling it is saying it is. Thanks so much everyone!

Not to confuse things more, but some people don’t believe there should be a distinction between merauke and IJ. Sometimes the way someone labels a skink is not necessarily wrong, but rather it is just because that person falls on a different side of the fence when it comes to that particular debate.

And maybe to confuse things even more, the owner of Bushmaster has told me that he has seen many wild caught blue tongues in Indonesia that are clearly intergrades and/or intermediate between IJs, Meraukes and Indonesians. I trust him. I do think some intermediate animals are probably the result of interbreeding in holding pens at "farms" in Indonesia but I also do believe that it is probable that the various "forms" of blue tongues intergrade in the wild as well.

That wouldnt suprise me either david,ij and meraukes would naturally,but with some of the holding pens ect,escapee ones would probably be common,not to mention on there way to the exporters,the climates are similar enough that they would thrive anywhere in indos lowlands
