Where's breakfast?

Postby Lauriek » Tue Mar 04, 2014 11:33 pm

Bliss, about to emerge from her tea towel for breakfast.
For those of you who don't know, she sleeps under a folded tea towel

When I first got her she was about 8 months old and yes, she is a 'she' as she's had babies. When I got her home I put her in a small viv and went out to get her larger viv, but DH had put her in a cardboard box with some straw and just left her out on the back verandah. She's a lizard, he said (er yes, she's a lizard  ) . I had gone out and instead of her being a nice warm little girl she was cold and lethargic when I came home. I brought her back into the kitchen and put her in back in the little viv with heat lamp turned on. I was very concerned and my little skink didn't have a hide so I had a warm folded up tea towel. She snuggled into it and promptly went to sleep! She has a hide in her cage but prefers the nice softness of a tea towel !!

By the way, she can't be hand fed as she's vicious around food. She's drawn blood a couple of times when I've been tempting her out because she moves so fast. Otherwise she's a sweetie. :D

As Richard said, she's a lowland blotchie. She scrambles into her tea towel through a bit of agi pipe. She can get to it another way but likes the pipe. She often emerges that way too.
She's used to being fed on top of her hide, which looks like a wooden box with an opening. Interestingly, she seems to like poohing in there. The moment she sees me the tongue starts flicking in and out.
