Checked on vic alpines down at folks place today,all the females have recently shed so might be earlier in dropping than i thought,or another shed in a few weeks time,heres a few pics of some of the gravid lasses

To much ticking,not enough popping,lol

One thing i sort of forget about with indoor ones is even when i warm them in july,its still pretty cold in there cages away from basking lights,so they take months to mate,and usually drop at similar times to outdoors ones,temperate forms anyways

The outdoors vic alpines didnt mate till first week of december,so maybe a shed off still,mind you the hind gut area has sunken in already,so heat may be pushing gestation along abit again,last season they mated first week of november,first litter was feb 15,a good month earlier than average

Will be interesting to see when they drop this season,and compared to ones that were indoors till mid november,and i believe were fooling around in october

Mine must be waiting on your girls scott,you always pip me,lol,usually around a week after shedding for me,thats if ive caught the right shed cycle

Glad I'm not the only one impatiently waiting for babies. I have 9 shingles at the moment who I'm sure every day are going to pop. I keep having to remind myself that this happens every year and that they never pop before the end of feb at the earliest and I always get impatient.

Love the look of those alpine blotchies. One species I'd love to keep some day...

Couple more updates and observations,

Acanthurus,have u noticed gravid shingles get narky at cage mates,my female has even been biting at her partner last couple of days and nudging him away,as well as another male and female,and a young female as well,ive never seen her,or any females ever do that,very odd

Another female bluemountains is shedding as im writing this,a 3 year old so just her sister to go whos just going into blue now,someones got to pop soon,lol
