Blue Tongue dead
Very sad just found my blue tongue dead. She was a healthy female and was in the middle of giving birth. There was a dead baby as well. There was also another baby she was in the middle of eating. Can you tell me what might have happened?

It happens from time to time. Giving birth is hard on the humans too.
I had a hosmers skink die a few years ago with same problem. Died after giving birth to one, was still heavily Gravid when I found her body.

Re: Blue Tongue dead
Is it too late to get her to a vet to open her up in case any other babies could be saved?

Re: Blue Tongue dead
Fatal raises a good point, babies can often still be saved when female dies, often a dead baby has blocked others coming out or build ups of unfertilised ova,but you would have to be pretty quick id imagine

That's very sad to hear. I hope you managed to save any other babies that may have been behind the one being born.
