Heating for Eastern BTS in Brisbane area

Hi guys,
We are soon to bring home our first blue tongue skink (thanks to RoryBreaker).
We have had the tank setup for sometime now and I'm concerned about the heating levels in the warm end. The cooler end sits at about 25-27.5 degrees but the hot end on top of the basking rock only reached about 32-34 degrees (depending on day and air-con being used). I know it is recommended it reach between 35-38.
So do you think I need to increase the wattage on the globe I'm using (currently a eco terra sun glo 60watt) or just wait and watch on his behaviour. The basking rock is about 30cm away from the bulb. Also, considering raising the basking spot as an option.
Also, currently I have his water bowl down the heated end, last night I read it should be down the cooler end, is that correct?

Temps sound good for cool end,warm ends not to bad,stick with that wattage maybe raise basking rock to increase basking spot temp,or if lite fixture is movable drop it closer to basking rock

A good option is a raised basking spot so they can hide under it to for a warm spot hide

I mustn't be doing to bad then as we had already raised it a little to create a hide underneath but might lay down a thick piece of sandstone I have then re-do it would make it about an inch closer.
What about the water dish does it have to be down the cool end?

Probably best down cool end yeah,or at least away from the heat

Hi Richard, this is the tank as is. Is there anything you think that doesn't look right? The water bowl in over some pvc hides to raise of the substrate, and the food bowl is in front corner. What do you think? I have managed to raise the basking spot an inch and a half, so will check temps tomorrow when the heating light comes on again in the morning. Currently I have it on a 12 hour timer, from 8 tip 8. Does that sound o.k?

Richard thanks for your advice, after raising the Basking spot yesterday, it's currently sitting at 36.2C

Now to bring home our baby. Hopefully going to be meeting RoryBreaker tomorrow or Wednesday

I hardly had any lights or heat turned on in the last few weeks, especially since the middle of last week.

It's going to be spoiled rotten in a enclosure like that.
