Some Last Minute Blotchie Pictures Before Brumation

This is going to make me sound ignorant, but i didn't even know blotchies existed until a few weeks ago. I've read a ton about shinglebacks and some about northerns (mostly just due to increased availability) but have never read anything about blotchies. Are they extremely rare stateside? What is their personality like? Are they an equatorial/humid species or one of the arid living types?

Blotchies are probably the least rare of the rare species over here, and they sell for a good amount more than an Eastern but less than a shingleback. They live in a drier environment (think plains and dry forests). I'll let someone else talk about their temperament, because unfortunately, I do not own one!

I think they are still fairly uncommon in the US but there are a few around, a lot more than a couple of years ago.

There are two form, Lowlands and Highlands (also sometimes called Alpines). They can be very laid back personality wise, similar to Shinglebacks. The Highlands are neither humid nor arid living types but occur in areas usually over 700 meters above sea level. They are the cool weather specialists.

I'm guessing there might be around 50 to 60 Blotchies in the states, all highlands and possibly 1 female Lowland. I've heard rumors of a few lowlands but nothing I can confirm.

Don't worry, you will have at least one alpine after (or before) you figure out your pair of Rugosa...my guess is within 3 years.

Definitely winter in Canada - got over a foot of snow at my house yesterday. I keep thinking about that, though. Every time I see an Aussie's "summer pics" these days, it's making me so jealous! Even for the Soutern States people, wanna take some snow off our hands? Lol, I just wanna take my skink outside for a photoshops and some sunshine. That is not in the books for several months, though. Awesome pics tho!

Depends on the place. Winter is our wet season. It doesn't get cold here usually, but it feels like it rains every blessed day! I can't wait for spring. I really need some sunshine!
