Ate an artificial berry

So I thought I would let everyone know about my experience that happened recently. The day before Thanksgiving, Nov 27th, I had Naxos running around the living room supervised. I am diIgent about keeping things vacuumed and picked up but I guess I had missed this this small(little smaller than a pea) orange artificial berry that I had in a fall arrangement. Of course just like any toddler everything goes in the mouth. I rushed over and picked him up thinking he would drop it since it is uneatable? Ha, he swallowed it! I freaked out initially then I examined another berry and determined it was a center of Styrofoam and thin outer covering of some papery material. He got some banana as a snack, normal feeding schedule of every 2 days with banana snack every other day. He had 4 bowel movements over the last 8 days with today's finally having the Styrofoam pellet. No orange covering but guessing that got broken down. Lesson learned? Banana is a great laxative, skinks will eat anything, and no matter how careful one is, things will happen.

Good to know he passed it and thanks for the story. It's a good reminder for us to be careful with our animals.

They do seem to curious for their own good when it comes to eating anything and everything. I bet it was a relief to see that he passed the styrofoam without too much drama, good call on the banana treats. Glad to know that he's okay nonetheless!

I've had Gizmo wandering the back yard while supervised try to eat cat litter crystals. I didn't know they were there till I saw him try to taste test them, like he does whenever he smells something he wants to try to eat. I picked him up and moved him right away, but it gave me a scare - I have no idea what cat litter crystals would do to a lizards digestive system.

I was supervising my 2 shinglebacks. One was exploring and she started biting the buffalo grass and trying to rip tje gras out of the floor. It was so cute and funny how she couldn't eat it since it was still in the ground.
They will eat anything... Or most things xD
