My roommate got her bts out today and she noticed his bottom jaw is kinda swollen and it has some flaky skin on it. Could this be mouth rot? We opened his mouth and couldn't see anything abnormal.
We're just kinda worried about her skink and want to make sure everything is ok.
Here's a picture of the outside of his mouth. The second picture is the side in question and then the last shot is just for comparison.

Nope, nothing about that looks unhealthy to me. A lot of times they will get weird little bends in their scales around their mouth for various different reasons; nothing to worry about.
Happy to know you are paying close attention to your skink. Just get to know what that area normally looks like over the next several months; the little pink area may go away and it may not. This is the continual game our skinks like to have us playing: "Oh my gosh, is that normal? Has that always been there? Do I need to worry?!"

It doesn't look like an infection. See how it looks after a shed or two, it will probably be reduced.

Don't think it's mouth rot, I had a king snake that had it and it looked a lot worse.

Definitely isn't mouth rot, but it does look flaky.. not sure I'd call it normal.. one of my Meraukes have that dip on the lower lip on that same exact side, but it isn't flaky like that.
I'd say it isn't anything to worry about, but keep an eye on it just in case.

Northerns seem to get this a fair bit,often looks flakey as theres often a bit of retained shed there,usually clears itself up pretty quick and u forget it was there to begin with,but always a good habit to keep an eye on it,nice looking bluey to by the way
