Brumation N00B questions

You think 65 is warm? ..too cold for me.. I'm used to 80 at night.

Here is shouldn't get too much cooler for a while.. supposed to warm up to 73 later on in the week, so they might wake up again.

Hi everyone. As Tili is my first BTS, and about 3 3/4 months old, im thinking she is wanting to brumate. She has a wet hide on her warm side, but not under the basking light, by the glass, has gone in there for a solid day and a half so far. Should I disturb her, ive checked on her, she just looks at me as if to say, *I like cookies :-) do you want. Or is she dampening herself for shed. Im new to this on skinks, so please help, She hasn't eaten for a day, well 2 today? Would appreciate all help xx

I know not enough to give much advice about brumation, so let the scincoides keepers chime in~

On another note; I should be able to keep my guys outside until late November, try to pair right before I bring them in, and keep pairing until before May. But here is my question. What are some signs should you look for that you have it too cold for them? (before death or sickness) I was reading up on how Ross cools, and it was low 50's I believe.. and thinking about going that low on the Meraukes.

Correction- he brumated Virginia with temperatures from 48-54.

I would just leave her be. In my experience, Coomassie hides under his water dish as far away from his basking light as possible when he is burmating. If I disturb him he gets huffy and he looks sleepy. My guess is that Tili is getting ready to shed but every skink is different. The key to winter is that you know their weight and make sure they aren't dropping weight. Since Coomassie burmates under his waterdish, I check on him once a week once he goes down. Every weekend I change his water and make sure he still looks ok.

Well, fed the skinks yesterday, and none of them hardly ate anything! All have been sleeping about 85% of the day.. and already getting some early breeding signs! Super excited.
