My male merauke became restless about a month or 2 ago...once the rain stopped (in Portland).

When I had meraukes, they were weird. The genders seemed to have nothing to do with how they interacted. Most of them completely ignored each other when put together unless they were in the mood to "cuddle". I had a huge female that absolutely hated one particular male though. She would charge him immediately anytime I tried to put them together. The male was a very calm and gentle skink who never made ANY attempt to get near her at all. She just immediately attacked him as soon as I put them together. She completely ignored all the others, male or female. That male was the nicest merauke I had, but apparently he had done something to offend her, because she absolutely hated him.

I've had a different experience Jeff, lol. After I got done quarantining Hunter, I stuck him outside on the patio where the light shown in. I first put Xaunder. He bluffed when ue first seen her, but I guess afyer he realized she was female, he was completely fine. Next I put Ema.. Hunter wanted to KILL Ema.. theu both were doing the side back turn display tp each other.. like them Northerns on thay video of them fighting. I quickly took him put. Next I put London.. oh man.. Hunter really didn't like the sight of London.. he did the side back turn display, and was literally chasing him. He tried to bite him, but London cared less. I then stuck Ema with London, and Ema did tje display, but not as bad. I then put London with Xaunder, and London started to mount her. I quickly separated them. From that I got the conclusion:
Hunter is a male
Ema is male
Xaunder is female
And London is male.

Ema started dropping plugs like no tomorrow, and London tried to breed Xaunder a second time. So I'm 100% I have the genders correct.
