the OTHER KIDS...i'll leave the best for last
we have 1 adult black and white argentine tegu
3 sub-adult red tail boas
1 unknown species of boa
1 albino bell leopard gecko
1 male steppe runner *sadly whos mate died last weekend due to an inconvenient bout with mites* but happily i can say we're mite free and we're not sure how he got them in the first place.
1ball python....and...
i have
1 adult male Merauke whom i haven't renamed yet as i just acquired him 2 weeks ago, and 1 juvi female IJ i named Tili..cheese and simple..but it suits her bc it seems like a diva's name..and that she is...i'm learning that this merauke is either bi-polar, isn't comfortable here, or is just flat out a mean boy..i was told by the previous owner he's a sweet laid back boy who loves to snuggle..i've seen nothing of the sort form him yet but i'm giving him time to adjust and he's tolerated the daughter "petting" him..which is more like using her fingernail to scratch..but not hard..just light enough he feels it but not that its angering him..
so thats us in a nutshell...i'll post pics soon
also i might add...not sure why but i will...
i think i "rescued" the Merauke more than adopted him...the girl before me was feeding him canned cat-food, bananas, and random meats she said...i think he's morbidly obese, he's 23 inches long (he actually sat still with a tape measure over his head for 5 seconds..i was impressed) and he weighs 940g...i've got him on a good beginner green diet since he's never eaten any i was told..kale,mustard greens, and bokchoy, along with some pureed chicken livers, gizzards, and hearts and some natural turkey meat mixed in..with a sprinkle of vitamins once a week and lately since we've discovered a farmers market i toss in a couple blue berries and black berries and some finely chopped greenbeans..both are fed this 2x's a week..although neither finish what i give them so maybe i'll split the portions in half and the tegu can have the left overs...she loves them lol...but i'm keeping track of both Tili's weight and the Merauke's weight..and i put him out on the poured concrete carport to help with his nails..that look like they haven't been clipped or maintained in a few weeks...

welcome
