What exactly does it mean when a bluey is huffing, i seem to have forgotten

It is their sign of a minor irritation. If Coomassie is under his substrate and I poke around, he starts to huff to basically say "leave me alone, I'm under here trying to nap".

I haven't been bitten after huffing, but I also have a pretty tolerable skink. It is a way they avoid a more controversial situation, a fair warning. I wouldn't aggravate/pry further if your skink is huffing. But then again, maybe if you do press on with it, you can answer this question for yourself (:

Never directly from huff to bite. There is usually some other sign of escalation like displaying, louder huffing, hissing, etc.
