Foodie pictures

Postby Lea » Sat Jun 29, 2013 5:29 am

I was looking through some photos from this summer and thought I'd post some of the dinner photos. There is usually some kind of feeding frenzy when the shinglebacks have their meals!

These are three different meal times, I think. Hopefully it will inspire a few food ideas, too.

All look great Lea.

I like to see their food where it can be identified and not just a bland pulp. I always feed all our pets in this manner so it is not only good for them but also looks appetising.

chewing is also very important for them, they have clamping power in those jaws, for crushing snail shells ect, always good to exercise the jaws if they have to chew it , also good for cleaning there teeth/ gum line, plus giving there digestive tracts some actual roughage to breakdown, id hate to think what a pulp eater poops out, lol

add the risk of periodontal disease, lizards not fed enough roughage, i cant see any benefit in feeding liquid pulp unless a last resort to get food into an ailing non feeder in need of serious nourishment

These pictures are delightful! Shingle "expressions" make them awfully easy to love.

Great looking, well tended group of lizards.

Thanks for sharing,
