Hey Aussies! Would BTS and JCP live near each other?

I have a jungle carpet python in an enclosure next to Plinko, and I've noticed her eyeing him warily. None of my other animals notice each other, but she really seems put off by him. Would they live near each other? Plinko is a northern BTS and Raisin, as I said, is a JCP. Should I put some paper up so she can't see him?

Your blue tongue would see the python as a predator and likely feel threatened and frightened. Definitely shield her from view so each one is not upset by the other. They do live in similar locales, but it's more of a predator prey relationship, than a happy one.

northerns are out of the range of jungle carpets,easterns would be around that area though,northerns come into contact with other pythons though,topend carpet pythons,olives,water,blackheaded,rough scaled,childrens pythons are all found in same area,they could perceive any snake as a threat,as a few of the hot species also devour blueys

Sorry, I was thinking of the children's pythons, not specifically jungles. I still think keeping them separate is best. Poor blueys would be scared stiff of a snake, whatever the locale.

they are kept seperate lea,bluey can see snake in its cage from where bluey cage is sitting

I can't say what occurs in Indonesia, but in Australia many species of snakes predate BTS. If there are physical signs showing then there is the highest likelihood other stress factors such as elevated blood cortisol and/or glucose also present. No animal with either or both these conditions would be expected to live a normal life span.

We have a blotchie whose siblings were killed by a snake and it took over a year for her not to go into a blind panic if an arm was placed in her enclosure. I always believed this was as a result of witnessing her siblings being taken.

I believe it in the bluey's best interest to completely separate their housing. There is not only the issue of sight but also consider scent.

Okay okay. They don't ever come in contact with each other, they're in completely separate enclosures. I'll put a piece of paper between the two so they can't see each other. i was just curious
