skink conjunctivitis

im asking on behalf of a friend with a blotched blue tongue skink that cant get to our vet until next week...
she found her skink with a clear gunk that was sticky to the touch, in the corner of his eye. opinions on what to do? I cant give her my opinion because if anything is out of the ordinary like that i take my pets straight to the vet lol

The only thing I'd do while waiting to see a vet is keep it clean - you can wipe it off with a clean, damp wash cloth or use saline water / contact lens solution. Otherwise, wait and see the vet.

any chance of seeing a pic of said eye?

might not be conjunctivitis,could be from a scratch to eye from substrate,eg bark ,conjunctivitus isnt really clear

she cleaned it before getting a picture but i told her to snap a photo if it comes back hoping it is just from substrate or a little scratch or something

On the chance that it is the substrate, I would remove anything that could further irritate the eye. That may help her get an answer.

Often it is a symptom of a respiratory infection.
What are your night time temps?
I find Meraukes will start exhibiting r.i. symptoms if their night temps are too high say in the upper 70's. If so drop the night temps to low 70's and the problem often corrects itself if humidity levels are good.

Not so much discharge, more so saliva, but I'll take her to the vet once she gets back from her maternity leave!

My night temps are about 70 degrees on both sides.
