Hi, I'm new to the and BTS's. I just got a little guy or girl from a friend of a friend. He was only being fed crickets and now seems to suffer from lack of calcium and he under weight. But will some tlc I'm sure he'll be fine. Once again, hello and can't wait to meet everyone

welcome to the forum,nice looking bluey,does look to have a few bumpy areas,with some tlc and a better doet with calciam supplementation theres no reason why he cant live a long normal life

How old do yall believe he is? he measures 11 1/2 inches.

My guess is 3-4 months. My Meraukes were 12" at age 4.5 months.

I'd guess 5-6 months, hard to saw, may look younger because he wasn't on a good diet

It is very difficult to guess at age - it depends on diet, health, species, husbandry, individual genetics - with his uncertain background I wouldn't wager a guess. I have a Merauke that is several years old and is tiny, only about 13" but is in perfect health and eats well. So it is very hard to tell based on length.

Calcium deficiency takes more than a few months to develop, so if it is MBD then I'd guess he was over a year old. Most gigases seem to be born November / December, so maybe a year and three months if it is MBD?? Back bends and tail kinks can be from the womb but if it is calcium deficiency it doesn't happen quickly.

Welcome to the site! I'm glad he seems to be filling out. How are you managing the new diet? Is he taking more interest in the food now he has variety? A little extra protein, meat or egg, may benefit him right now, while he is getting some renewed strength. It will aid his healing and with any luck make him feel better and more energetic, more quickly

He'd doing very well with his diet. I thought it would be hard to get him to eat healthy but he did well. I'm feeding wellness dog food chicken stew mixed with collard and mustard greens. I also use calcium with d3, I'm using it with every meal which is every other day. I'm trying to make sure he doesn't put on weight too fast.

Same here. I've seen 6 month old + skinks sit in a petstore being starved that havent grown an inch and are no bigger than new borns. My Indo took forever to grow to a good length and size, almost 2 years, but he was in pretty good shape when we bought him.
