eye and mouth issues

I have a blue tongue skink that has a bit of an eye and mouth issue it keeps getting cloudy eyes and looks like scales on its eyes and after a while it just becomes like a scab over his eye and his mouth gets a build up and it just stayes there like mucus and when we take it off its like a booger all information would be helpful

a picture would be helpful. How old your skink is, and what kind would also help. I would take it to the vet, sounds like an infection

Hi Rockwell and welcome to BTS net. You probably posted this anticipating that the response would be that you need to take it to a vet. I'm not sure that you will get any other response than that. BTS can get intractible issues but also those which can clear up miraculously from rudimentary treatment. There are lots of important management issues including diet, temperatures, stress, clenliness all of which affect blueys ability to deal with potential infections. These are all things that we can help you with. BUT medical attention and guideance of a professional in understanding the nature of the problem and setting up an appropriate treatment regime is probably not.

Things like photos, overview of your husbandry etc can help us to help you.

when eye starts crusting over its advanced enough to definatly seek a qualified vets diagnosis,what u describe sounds like a respitory infection,that has dwveloped into a serious enough state to head to the vets,sometimes just warming them up can clear the issue in time,but better if caught early enough
