BTS not pooping quite as often as I'd like...

Postby justyna.ewa » Tue Mar 05, 2013 5:36 am

Hi everyone,
5 year old BTS is eating normally, has a good appetite, and explores my house regularly but he is not pooping "once per day" as the care sheet indicates. He never eats his substrate and otherwise, his behaviour is normal. I even tried running a lukewarm bath for him but he really hates those and it doesn't seem to have changed much anyway. Should I be worried? Is there anything else I can try?
Thanks.

a bts doesnt need to poop every day.

its more like:
- after eating a big meal
- after moving around a lot
- after shedding
- after eating egg, banana
- after a bath

so even if its once a week its still normal, theyre just variating in activity, how much they eat and what they eat.

Okay, that's what I was hoping. Thanks a lot!
How do you get your skink to start liking baths? Mine always makes an extremely traumatized facial expression and tries to run away from the water, even if it is barely warm and very shallow.

Don't worry about it - if he doesn't like baths, don't give him one unless he really needs it. Mine eat about once per week and poop about that often as well. :D

Think about it this way: less poop=less work :D

YES! This! Unless one of my animals is not pooping for weeks when they normally poop more frequently, I'm SO happy when they poop less than expected. With as many animals as I have, every little bit (er, well, lack thereof) helps!

You're welcome, thats what we are here for! That, and bluey pics!
