Went to check on the blothies and found 2 babies ,one unfortunatly dead in a cunningham skinks mouth and the females trying to push out more,could be more but havnt found any yet

Its near on a month earlier than normal,another female looks very close to

The Cunningham skink is a scavenger I guess. I don't know much about it. I do know Ray Gurgui is working with that species.

I usually take out the blueys when the Cunninghams are gravid .

Lol rory,ive never had issues with juvie blotchies and cunninghams,it gave up trying to eat baby,to big a mouthfull,sometimes the water dragons can nip at new borns,i removed a few gravid females inside now so shouldnt get repeat outcome,,didnt get much of a chance to look for others so will tomoz,females still pushing so maybe another 1 or 2 to come from her

Sorry about the dead baby, Richard. That's a shame to find your Cunningham skink the culprit, I'd thought them to be more peaceful and tolerant.
The other little one looks great though, full of gumption! Congratulations hopefully you'll see some more soon.

Not sure yet jeff,heading back down this arvo to check,she was still pushing when i put her into an inside cage,so maybe,her sister looked close to,she was the main one mated,got roughed up pretty bad,hopefully theres a few outside ive missed,only had a quick look after 6.30 last night

Checked on the blotchies this arvo,think i made a boo boo on the lone surviving babies mum,as she is still rather large and heavy breathing,so have brought her and her sister home to keep an eye on,the one on right in pic is one i assumed had these guys as she appeared to be pushing,what caught me as odd as well is the juvies showed no sign of post birth shedding which new borns show,a younger sibling to these looks to have lost alot of condition so im assuming she dropped ,the first one may have just been repositiong bubs in lead up to birthing,something ive noticed with northerns

Little tykes name is lucky,as if its the only surviver its rather lucky,though may have been a small litter as babies are sizable for a young mother

Hmmm,one i thought was responsible for this litter just dropped a still born baby,it feels rather flacid,perhaps she was responsible for the other 2 after all,could explain why one was trying to be consumed,possable still born,shes still solid and pushing,as is the other lass in with her,of interest they both pooped to and with it was a bit of watery goo

Checked on her again today,she looks to have dropped a bit more weight,no sign of anything and no pushing,she may be done now,she still looks in good shape though,normally theu lose alot of weight,her sister is huge,breathing really heavily so cant be to far off,she was the most harrassed by males this season,got quite beat up the poor lass
