Not eating

Hello,
It has been three days since we got Smudge and he will not eat, bask or drink. All he does is hide and I can see no feces anywhere in his vivarium. He will not even eat crickets I am very worried about him and am bringing him to the vet soon.

3 days isnt very long,especially for a newly aquired specimen,sometimes they need to settle into a new environment,what are your temps,if its cooler than his previous cage he might think its brumation time,or just not waem enough to become active,if temps are good,dont stress,some just take time to settle,if its weights good and not falling,everything sounds normal to me,with a newly aquired animal

He's not a tiny baby, so I'd wait a lot longer than 3 days before worrying enough to take him to the vet. Give it a couple weeks, just offer a healthy meal every few days. A healthy adult can go months and months without food with no ill effects.

Like Richard said - check your husbandry, temps especially and if you're concerned then weigh him and see if he loses any weight over the next few weeks. Good luck, don't worry - this is completely normal!

A vet checkup isn't a bad idea for any new pet, I'd recommend taking him but just for a general checkup and not out of concern for not eating for 3 days.

also, they do hide for days at a time sometimes very normal!
