Substrate

I know the caresheet goes over substrate, but I wanted to be a little more specific and see what you people actually use.

I went to Lowe's today and found some nice mulch-stuff that I was told had ABSOLUTELY NO chemicals in it, for a really cheap price. Petco sells some decent bedding, but it is like 15$ for a third of the amount.
So, what specifically do you guys use for your burrowing blue tongues?

Unfortunately mulch is a commodity item thus each store will vary on brand, bag size, and price. I have 2 stores both 20 miles away from me in different directions. Both have different brands, bad size, and price. I just get the stuff called cypress mulch.
Here are the ones we carry. To show what I mean, the store I buy from carries 2 brands yet the store sees it as one (item# is the same for both brands)

You've never had any impaction issues? Or it being stuck in their eyes/nose?

i use wood chips, and ill switch over to cork bark soon (just used up my last wood chip bag)

I use Forest Floor bedding which is just cypress mulch. BTS are pretty good at spitting the substrate out if they eat it accidentally.

No issues with using it.

I use cypress mulch, and if my skink ever somehow does get a piece of bark in his mouth, he uses his tongue to push it out.

I also use cypress mulch. So far no problems and my northern likes to dig tunnels through it.
