What's the gender and good size?
Hey all haven't written anything on here in a while so thought I would ask if anyone could guess Plutos gender? Also is she a good size for a 4 month old? She is super cute!

Very healthy looking and I'd say female. (but its so hard to tell from photos)

Looks huge for 4 months old,part of me says female but equally part of me says male,with a slight leaning towards male,are u sure its only 4 months old

Yea positive Pluto is. She/he is four and a half months. Born August 20th. Very very spoilt lizard. Can you tell me what makes you think male?

haha yea, i got her when she was 11 days old. i posted pics on here then as well, she seems to be growing very very fast!

Really, its anyone's guess if it is a male or female. Males TEND to have heads and necks that are a bit larger but that's not always the case. The only real way to know is if you see hemipenes when they finish going to the bathroom or if you see sperm plugs in the enclosure. Yours is too young for that yet. You can start looking for those signs around a year old. I've been doing skinks for a while now and its really a 50/50 shot if you are right or not.
Case in point, I have a 19 month old baby we kept from a previous litter. We were convinced it was female. It always sleeps in the same space as my other female in the outside enclosure - even curling up in the same basket together to sleep at night. The enclosure is 12 x 18 feet so its not like they don't have other places they can be. Since they get along so well outside, when we brought them in for the winter, I put them in the same 75 gallon aquarium - not normally recommended but these two seem fine together. Mom came out of her brumation Sunday. Low and behold, Speckles grabbed her in a mating bite and did the deed within seconds of her coming out. Its the first indication of anything male we have seen - no hemipenes, no sperm plugs, no huffing like my other males do, nothing.
