New to Bluey's and BTS.net!

Postby roseyreps » Tue Dec 11, 2012 10:14 am

Hey there all,
I'm an active member of another reptile related forum, mostly dedicated to ball pythons. We are getting our first Blue Tongue Skink tomorrow! He/she is a Northern Blue Tongue Skink from Bonita Galas down here in Florida. I will be sure to post pictures when he/she arrives :D Our bluey is currently on Natural balance can dog food (Venison and sweet potato) so I picked up some of that, mustard greens, and some blueberries for treats. I also grabbed a can of Wellness - CORE wet dog food (Grain Free - Turkey, Chicken Liver, and Turkey Liver) to mix into the natural balance / greens mix. I would like your opinion on the CORE, as this is a baby BTS I didn't think the reduced fat would be appropriate just yet. I would like to switch the baby over entirely to the CORE line, as it has a lot more mix in the veggies department, but would love everyone's opinion on it.

This is technically a Christmas present for my daughter, but I think I am more excited about it than she is! That's ok, because I will be the one taking care of it for a while anyways (She's only 4, but she's very gentle and great with the bp's)

Ok...is it referred to as bts.net or bts.org...I'm confused now :noknow:

Hey Congratulations! I got my bluey from Bonita as well :) (Nothing to worry about with her transactions!)

Looking forward to seeing some pictures, and I am also from that ball python related website :)

Not sure if it was just for me, but the Forums seemed down for the past 24ish hrs or so :( Anywho, got my baby! He's adorable! Super spunky and loves to eat :D
Pics, as promised :) More once he settles in of course, these were the day he got here and I had my light tent set up already so I took advantage of it!

I would HIGHLY suggest working with Bonita, she was awesome! And she is such a sweetheart!

Welcome! I have used the wellness foods in the past for skinks, dogs, and cat. They all did well on them. I have used the core canned for my cat prior to him needing to be put on a prescription diet with good results. I would not be afraid to use any of the wellness products.

The skink is beautiful. I have seen Bonita's ads in the past and seems like she produces nice looking skinks.
