I am a little late on posting pictures of my blue tongue skink, Oscar. I just got done setting up a new enclose for him and also my bearded dragon, Armani. The enclosure is 4'L x 2'W x 18''H with built in lighting and air vents. I got them off of Craigslist from a reptile owner (Yes, I cleaned out the enclosures completely) . The enclosures were taken care of very well only a few scratches and minor border damage. Enjoy the pictures and please let me know what you think! Thanks!
Say hello to Oscar and his new setup!

How's Oscar liking the new tank? Does he dig/bury a lot?

Re: Say hello to Oscar and his new setup!
That's a much safer setup for him with the lights, I'm sure he appreciates the room to move without getting an eyeful of lighttube in his face.
Is that a real cactus with your bearded dragon? It's a great idea, but the spines can cause some damage to the softer scales and the glochids can cause quite severe contact dermatitis. Glochids are usually covered in barb like "hairs" and make them difficult to remove from skin. If they go unnoticed, the wound can become infected and even cause necrosis, which is obviously a bigger problem than a mild dermatitis!
Of course, that may be a fake plant, in which case you now have a little useless information to save up for a quiz night!

They are fake cacti.

Re: Say hello to Oscar and his new setup!
Thanks for the comments everyone. All of the plants are fake. I wouldn't use any real cacti in a captive lizard cage. Oscar absolutely loves his new cage. He has been digging all throughout his cage. He seems very happy with his new home.
