outdoor blotchies are starting to shed and chase

Finally its that time of season,i brought the nsw,vic alpine/lowlands cross and bluemountains pr back to the outside cages and looking in noticed big vic alpine male freshly shed,he hadnt yesterday

He chased the nsw alpine lass around as did another young vic alpine male so chance her window is still open

Pics are of dominant vic alpine male

Will hopefully get some more pics shortly

Of note is its 20 degrees in melbourne today,and they are active enough to be chasing cage mates,24 tommorrow so wouldnt suprise me if they are more persistant

Still quiet next door in the lowlands cage,stacks on is still being practiced including water dragons and cunningham skinks

Mine are shedding but no chasing yet. I think if anything Bendigo is a bit cooler.

Been inconsistant here scott,the odd warm day or 2 then almost winter like for a week,first time i can remember they havnt been overly eating much before showing interest,only vic alpine male has shed,plus the other chasing male who was just starting,bit of skin loose on lip eye area,young male chased another young male and nsw alpine to,what ever ran mode ,lol,if it runs chase first ask questions later

The nsw lass has shed twice and been indoors for quite some time,first time ive ever seen her chased,no outdoor females have been chased,but only just shedding so early days,yours might go about same time as mine scott,be interesting to see if gestation time is shorter with the heat up your way

Another male has shed,sitting under the dominant male,they seem to have gotten paler this season,normally its after a shed,maybe later start to season

The others in the pic are young females,surely a few of them are ready now for there first litters

I've taken my dominant male out today, trying to give my other males a go. Fingers crossed, taking a risk of no babies.

Looks like everything is starting down your way. The weather is still quite variable here but I did see my first Blotchy yard visitor today.

Inconsistant here to norm,still havnt seen a yard visitor which is odd,musnt have liked the empty compost over winter

Scott another male will take his place,i normally get a few that breed,artifact of lots of males i guess,some just never show interest,funny with the lowlands,a tiny male is one of the most doninant,the biggest male the most wussy,hes bigger than my alpine males to,yet have never seen any interest

I really need to make smaller groups,some males definatly lose mojo in the presence of others

Lea the stacking is generally when its cooler,must help them hold warmth better,warmer days sees them spread out a bit more

Noticed a few more boys have shed,some are just starting,nsw lass has a few scuff marks already,other females seem to not have been hassled yet

None of the lowlands have shed yet,a couple look closr thougj

Hopefully see some action shortly,today was 20 degrees,though alpines felt very warm and reasonably active,will get some pics shortly

Went to check on the alpines today after work,been in the 30S last 3 days,no sign of mating yet

The males are very pale this season after there sheds,almost a whitish color instead of the yellow,in the pics u can see the females as they are still very yellow

The males often change colors over a season,normally they arent so pale after a shed before mating,ill try keeping tabs on color change over a season

Its so nice to see all those blueys together...i wish the other varieties were less aggressive with each other!
