Can skinks be litter trained?

Can skinks be litter trained?

I have had my 4 month old northern bts for a few weeks now. I noticed that he/she has been going to the bathroom in the same area most of the time. Which makes me think they can be litter trained. Has anyone had success with this and how do you it?

Not sure about the concept of "trained" but you may be able to identify what it is about that spot that makes your bluey want to go there and replicate those conditions elsewhere. Some prefer to go in the water dish, I think it is the sensation of the edge of the dish pushing against the abdomen and helping the poo out. Others like a quiet corner.

Some egernia skinks will have a designated pooh area,usually down cool end of cage,my blueys and stumpies just let loose where ever when ever

Mine poop wherever they want. Usually it's in the middle of the tank and once or twice it's been in their food dish! :-/

If mine isn't doing it on me...*sigh* ... they ALL do it in their corners where i put snake/reptile bedding. Maybe its like lizzy litter or something :P
