Easterns

Hi,

I haven't posted any pics of my skinks here for some time. I thought I'd post some update pics of my group of Easterns.

Eastern 1, CB2010 in France:

Eastern 2. I think these two are sisters, they live very happily together:

And finally, my wildcaught Eastern :shock: . This guy was accidently imported to England in a shipment of aluminium tubes from Sydney. I was VERY lucky that he/she made his way to me!!! :D

That wild caught will be good to help diversify the bloodlines. :thumbs:

They look fantastic Mark! I still can't believe the way the new one made it to you! I am expecting to see some babies out of these in the spring!

I am curious to see how the new one adjusts to the northern hemisphere. I wonder if it will breed right away, or if it might take a season to adapt.

Thanks Jeff. Yep you hit the nail on the head there. All the others think its autumn right now. Sydney of course thinks its (Austral) spring. I will try to synchronise him this winter. I will give him a little longer to settle and feed up but will then try and re-set him to the northern hemisphere. Probably going to overwinter in Dec, Jan and Feb, wake up in March...

Babies would be SO nice!!!

They should adjust fine to northern hemisphere,theres a few keepers here that maipulate conditions at wrong time of year and get babies when adults normally start breeding,which you woukd think would be trickier when its often activity when they should be brumating

Which u would think would be tricky cooling them enough,but depending on temps is obviously quite possible,i think occi got a litter of melanistic easterns this time last season

Your guys all look quite sydneyish mark,well nsw types,but could be from anywhere,new one definatly looks like shedding soon,be interesting what it looks like then,if its a male it could be first shed since wake up
