I will be receiving a young northern bluetongue skink. The skink was hatched around June 19. Of this year. I have a few questions about their care. The skink is going to be in my basement. I live in Pennsylvania where are winters get cold. But I will have a heat lamp on One side going today to achieve the proper basking temperatures. But at night I was thinking of putting a 75 W all one wanted. My basement has a temperature around 60 to 65° during winter. My basement is also really humid. I have a dehumidifier down there that runs every other day But this does not always bring that humidity below 50%. Well the skank still be okay and a set up like this? This skink is going to be in a 75 gallon tank.

I'd recommend getting a ceramic heat emitter (CHE) and a thermostat so it never gets below 70* or so if you want to keep your skink active and feeding through the winter. I think 150w would be adequate for a 75 gallon tank. The CHE will also dry out the air and substrate a bit, which could help with your humidity issues. In the daytime, your basking lamp would bump up the low end temps into the high seventies-low eighties with a 100 degree hot spot.
