Finding out Merauke Age?

Hey all,

I purchased barry in march 2012 from a pet store. He was about 17 inches in lenght and currently about 18 inches in length. How would you go about figuring out how old he is? I know its not a perfect number but would be good to roughly know his age.

My guess is that he was born around December 2010.

Okay.. so when I got him that means he must have been a year and 3 months old. Is there a chance he was wild caught then? Got him from pet land discounts.

There's about a 60% chance he was wild caught. 39% is that his mom was WC while gravid, and gave birth. 1% chance some random person had adults living together and randomly produced babies.

Actually, after seeing where he purchased it from, I'd say there is a decent chance it might be cbb.

I would say around a year old is a good estimate. My 10 month Merauke is 20 inches. They don't all grow the same rate though, so as I said, within a few months range of a year either way it could be most likely.

Could easily be 2 to 3 years of age or older,if cbb wouldnt shop have a clue about its age ?

hm, Yea it could be an adult as well..but I'd still say the same for what age it could be at youngest

Probably best way to go larissa,going off younger age,thats what i do if i dont know,all you can do really,especially when they can grow so fast for many,the size some get to by 12 months is amazing
