HAHAHA! Believe it or not its actually really good! In the past when I've cooked it my bluey smells it and gets all excited about it. He does the same when I cook up his beef or turkey that I use to make up his meals

Lots of good advice here. Don't give up too easily. As was mentioned a few times they like to squeeze under things like fridges etc. and can survive a long time without food or apparent sources f water.They will often end up in the most unexpected places. Once I had a 2' yellow anaconda that escaped. I took my room apart and couldn't find it. Some how it had managed to get into a pocket of a jacket hanging in my closet .
Not sure if it's been mentioned but you could also place some appealing hides in and around the house.

lol I've always heard mine when they get out...but having a separate room for my reptiles is SO much less stressful, and easier to find them. My Merauke gets out pretty often, because her cage doesnt quite latch right (haha my bf burnt the corner of it with the heat lamp when we first got that tank X_X) and I can always either see her or hear her...she really likes to explore.

Dont give up! I'm sure you will find your bluey! Just dont leave any outside doors open.

Hey That kind actually does smell good lol. There's some really gross kinds and some good ones.

Haha! yea my Merauke has free range since I live in an apartment and he's large enough to do that now. (although he's only not allowed in the bedroom) One night he hid so well recently that I just left him out for the night, usually he will come out or not be hiding somewhere weird so it's not something I worry about. That night my bf left the door open so of course I figured he probably went in there since he's always trying to get in, but I didn't see him. I start feeding my extreme tegu and taking care of him then I hear a sneeze from under the bed randomly and a little shuffling. Was cute/funny lol.

But even that proves that they can find random places to hide where you won't find them right away. (even when you think you know all their hiding places in a confined area lol)

Free ranging for most reptiles is a really bad idea. They could eat anything (and skinks will), they could get stuck, or hurt, or not be able to regulate their body heat properly. Time to explore...yes. Free ranging all day and night? Not such a great idea....

No not ALL the time, only for a few hours at most during certain times. It was at night and usually he stays around (the house is kept very warm, so he'd be sleeping in his tank at the same temp) Also in a small apartment it's easy to cover places he shouldn't go with a towel or close a door. So I let him walk around and don't need to follow him every two seconds. i keep the bedroom door off limits since theres stuff on the ground in there. he went in there only once because my bf for some reason left the door open even though he didnt get to go back in his cage. nothing dangerous on the floor in there, only clothes, but still a place id rather him not be with how many hiding places there are. I always keep track of him when he roams, its not like i leave him out all day and night. (and i make sure theres nothing on the ground to be ingested or harmed with)

I know how many hiding places and things there are to get into from having rats too lol.

Good luck finding this guy! I had a snake turn up 3 months after I lost it while I was looking for a lost skink(the latter did not turn up for another day).

The update was eaten by the forum, but the skink was found safe and sound (behind the bed I believe). Happy ending
