Curious about Indonesians

There is a difference between being a good person and being knowledgeable. I have heard about Doug and Deer Fern Farms for years, and the comments I have heard have always been positive. I never really had a reason to check him out though. if what James says is true, then he is not very knowledgeable about the Genus Tiliqua. That is not an attack on his character, just pointing out that if he can't correctly identify his skinks, he might not be the best source to buy them from.

Yea i understand, that's why i said i dont know. He said it was CB, could have been, but i can't say since i didn't see the parents. Not that he's a bad guy, it doesn't really have anything to do with how he is lol. I'm just happy that i got a healthy, beautiful, friendly skink.

Maybe I'm just not a suspicious sort, but I chalk up the changes in rock colour to the lighting. When I take photos, sometimes the light makes everything look a certain way (full sun, partial sun, indoors under various lights, etc). And then I pick my favourite photos to post. They may not compare each skink exactly because the lights or camera position change, but they give an idea of what the skink looks like, which is all I want. I don't suspect photoshopping, that's too much effort to waste on a few photos of relatively cheap animals.

Black Cherry and his two male Meraukes are stunning and I need to go kidnap them. James is right, he should probably know the scientific names of his animals, but if he's got a good rep and shows the exact animals in photos before you buy, it just doesn't seem worth it to pester him over taking non-exact-colour photos or not knowing as much as us nerds do. I guess I'm willing to cut decent people some slack.

The uros on the other hand, some of those are just too darn pretty to be real. Wow. They're an animal I'm planning to get into soon, and now I'm drooling. So much to learn about the different species!

I agree, I looked very closely and it wasn't really noticeably different so much, there are many colors in the rocks and different angles can bring them out. I didn't see the full picture having an entirely different tint really. Although that one red one is a bit darker compared to the others so who knows.

I just know that when he sent me pics of the babies he had and i picked mine, it was the exact one in the pic and the exact color i asked for which was the silvery merauke i was looking for.

I also agree. Although I can't say for sure what is going on in this case, I can say just from taking pictures of Bruce the other day just changing your angle slightly can change the colour of the picture drastically. In some of the pictures Bruce looked quite yellowy, in other quite a reddish brown, or even a bit of a greenish hue in a few. I think lighting also plays a huge factor.
