Hi All,
Just want to point out that there are more amelanistic lines than just the Snake Ranch lines (plural). As far as I know from them several different genetic animals were given to them. Also I have two other lines which I have paired over them. Agreed they are all Australian, but would have multiple DNAs. Taxonomy is a savagely contested area of debate. I am yet to find two scientists that agree taxonomically. Even our licensing system only recognizes one species T.scincoides. Geographic forms and races dont constitute a subspecies. The northern geography scincoides produces up to twenty babies whilst the more southern races only 5 to 10. As a breeder wouldny you rather produce twenty albinos each litter than five. You know whats going to happen dont you,

My analogy to this debate has always been just look a the species Homo sapiens, the human race. There are hundreds of geographic races yet we are not classified as subspecies merely races according to geography. For some strange reason we split animals according to the mintuest detail into subspecies. To protect the Integrity of a race I can understand,but that is only transitional, as over time animals particularly scincoides have moved or overlapped populations and created slightly different colour variations, not new subspecies.

15 to 17 babies is common for a litter size for victorian scincoides,had 19 numerous times to,i was of the impression southerns had larger litters than northerns on average
the licensing system does list all scincoides as one,yet seperates eastern and gippsland water dragons,subspecies like eastern and northerns,stumpies are all listed as one as well,its an old list and they dont bother fixing it,unless something new appears
obviously theres enough differences to give them subspecies recognition,eg northerns and easterns scientifically
