I took my son's skink outside for a romp and I had no idea the small rocks would look interesting. Before I knew it he had one the size of an almond in the mouth and down the throat. Should we wait and see how he does or should I say it works out, or should we be preemptive and get him to a vet?
Thanks!

Re: Help! Bluey ate small rock
I wouldn't worry too much about it. It could be a problem if your skink is small, but if it didnt choke him then it will probably pass right through.
I try and snatch the rocks out of Rocket's mouth before he swallows them, but I've had a few get past me. I find them a few days later in his poop in his tank lol.
Try giving him some eggs and bananas to try and make the process easier for him to get his digestion going.
If it doesn't turn up in the next couple of days then a vet visit might be in order.

There really isnt much you can do now that he has already eaten it. Just keep a good eye on him and specifically watch eating habits. There have been quite a few members whos skinks have eaten rocks and nothing bad came of it. Just keep an eye on him.

Thanks, he's almost a year old and just this morning my son said he's starting to shed. We will watch him.

Re: Help! Bluey ate small rock
As ReptileKing has said, there isn't much you can do after the fact other than to keep a close watch for any change of behaviour with eating and/or defecating. My concern would be with the reported size of the rock being as big as an almond. A BTS' throat is much wider than the intestines where normal ingesta heads after processing by stomach acid. Unfortunately a rock cannot be processed by the acid so the probability is it will likely remain lodged in the stomach for the rest of the bluey's life. Hopefully it will not have a negative effect.

Yep, probably nothing to worry about. Just a thing some of these silly creatures do.
