I can't help with sexing though
I believe its impossible to accurately sex blueys by just looking at their exteriors

Welcome to the forum!!

He is an Eastern (Tiliqua scincoides scincoides). In order for people to have a guess at gender it is post to post birds-eye pictures looking straight down, showing the body and tail as straight as possible. Can you get another picture or two? It is definitely possible to sex them visually, some are easy to sex while others are almost impossible. It just depends on the individual bluey.

As mentioned you are the proud carer of a lovely looking Eastern, not the safest way to transport him/her mind..
Spend some time here gathering info from the FAQ section if your looking for advice, or ask if there's something specific that you can't find.

definatly an eastern,think they are the only species available to nz,its a nice looking one,most ive seen in pics look very victorian,but they can vary,yours looks like the sydney type ones
