Northern? A guess on gender?
I found this skink for sale locally and the person was told that it is a male. To me it looks like a Northern but I'm wondering if it might be a cross or not and if someone out there can give a good guess on gender. He was told that the skink is about two years old. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Northern? A guess on gender?
northern blood at the very least. nice orange colour. what makes me wonder is the very proper tail lines, theyre usually a bit diffuse in their pattern, but ive seen plenty northerns here that has it like that too
let the more experienced members yell you more direct guesses n__n
on another note, the feet. since you cant see them on the photo...... although the number of toes certainly doesnt say its not a good skink, it might be good to know before you buy
the tail looks a liiiittle oddly angeled near the base.......or am i seeing things?
dont i recognize that pattern........is this a skink thats been sold via this forum or something? its really very pretty.
D: razor blades, chemicals and a heating thing for the hair near the skink.

Thanks for the reply. It's one I found for sale on craigslist. I've seen more pics of the skink and all toes seem to be accounted for and the tail looks normal in all other pictures. I chose this one since its the only fully top-down all skink included picture that the guy sent me when I asked for more.

Actually, it's just the picture but thank you for confirming that it's a northern.

Re: Northern? A guess on gender?
Thanks for the reply. Looking back, I thought it looked like a kink as well. I can't see one in this pic though. Thank you, I'm leaning more toward purchasing it every moment.

With a kink could it be genetic? MBD or an accident? Something else?

Re: Northern? A guess on gender?
not sure on genetic, but mbd or an accident yes,in regards to mbd,if that was the cause, doesnt mean its suffering that now,if so you would likely see more kinks and body as well, may have aquired kink as a juvie,it looks in great shape, healthy, doesnt look like its suffering from mbd, more to the point it may not even have a kink at all

Hmmm.... I tried looking at it but the author deleted the entire blog.
No, it's a SKINK not a SKUNK. Er, no, it's not a Blue Tongued Skank---although I do think I dated one of those at some point.
