will this work for a cage?

I have my new indo in one of the cages that was set up for my incoming Northerns but its just temporary so I picked up a really big plastic tote today. I know its big enough and I will be able to get the temps and what not set proper but this particular tote is a solid blue color instead of clear like I wanted. Will this be ok? I wasn't sure if keeping a skink in a solid cage would be a problem. I plan on building a wooden viv later this summer so she would be in the tote for approximately 4 months.

Also, I want to use something besides aspen to help keep the humidity up a bit. Since we are still running the furnace, humidity is non existent at this time. I have a large quantity of coco coir mixed with a little play sand that I though about using. I know its not ideal for burrowing but I'd like to use it if its safe.

On a side note, her lump is getting smaller by the day.
