Viv Setups!
Well I finally got around to buying a new viv to treat my skink for the new year and I figured I wanted it to look good for him too. However, I'm not the most creative person there is so I'm looking to see how other people have set their vivs up to give me some ideas for mine please! I had a quick look through and found a couple pics but could do with some more ideas.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Viv Setups!
i'm not going to post a pic of my tanks, because they arent as cool looking as they will be in the future, but if you want custom foliage, a craft store usually sells drift wood type stuff and fake vines/bushes, so if you can wield a glue gun...you can make some awesome fake bushes.
heres an example.

Wow that looks really good! A lot better than most of the fake plants you can buy from reptile shops!

Re: Viv Setups!
Thanks! this was my first one, I have more ideas of how i want to the future ones. I liked this because my Star Craft bkg for my skinks has green and purple, so that purpley bush was great for this.

You will find some pics here (others, feel free to add your photos to this gallery!): gallery/album.php?album_id=4
I'm attaching a couple of my pics. I love cork bark, slate rocks, drift wood, mopani wood etc. I get quite a few supplies from a local aquarium store - I love the woods and rocks they have in bulk!
You don't need anything fancy though, you can get broken tiles from a hardware store etc.

Mine's still pretty basic at the moment, as I've not had Gonzo long. I've just switched to a hemp bedding, which so far is looking great.

We need a bigger basking rock

And this is his upstairs neighbour. She sleeps on top of the basking light and reptile radiator.

Re: Viv Setups!
Looking around at the setups everyone has on this and other threads has me feeling crafty, lol. Coby's tank isn't anything too fancy, but when I look around at how easy and more afforable it is to make a lot of the tank accessories instead of buying them. I think I may get crafty here soon and do some remodeling

Re: Viv Setups!
I finally got all my stuff together and as the weather was too bad for me to go out mountain biking I figured I'd rehome my skink!
So here are the results..

I put about double the substrate in this time round too as I didn't feel he had enough to burrow in last time. The slate on the left under the water bowl is raised up so when he digs under it hes got a secret hide! I also couldn't separate him from his favourite purple tube so I decided to keep that in there too.
I'm quite pleased with how it looks now, and he seems to be loving it!
