They was told me when i bought it that it was a male but i want to hear wat you guys think.
I found no spermplugs yet.

I have to agree on that it's either overweight or pregnant, but i will not guess the gender (if it is indeed pregnant then of course its female, but you get the point......:) )

I guess female as well, but I wouldn't say she's OVERweight. Chunky, yes, but nothing that would concern me in any way.
I would also take a guess that she's GORGEOUS! :wink: :love:

It looks similar to the skink on the care sheet
"Here is a second animal that is grossly overweight. Apparently, this animal has been in this condition for over a year. It's unusual, as an overweight animal would typically have a fat tail and this one does not. It is quite possible it has some other condition, but either way, it's a good example of showing how the legs look out of proportion with the body."

Well, it isn't as fat no... But it does still look large. Not extremely overweight, but still pretty overweight.
I would lessen the amount of food given during feedings, and put more veggies in instead of meats.

It looks fairly fat to me. I would definitely feed sparingly.

does anyone else have a "fat" IJ? mine is a chunker too! I feed all my skinks the same amount, and no one else is quite as fat as my IJ. :)

if caged together they may still produce offspring, since the temps and such are very different in belgium it may have adjusted to a different "biological clock".

just a theory.

if it is female and pregnant it gives rise to another issue, the previous owner must have known and deliberately sold it....so are the babies mixes or did he/she not have the money to care for the small ones?

I just mailed the previous owner and he said that the animal had no contact with other skinks for about 3 year.
So we will see what's going to happen.
Maybe he is just fat. :-)
